Product
200 g of body sugar for sensitive skin, allowing you to sugar your whole body several times. With 40 grams of sugar you can normally treat your entire body: arms, underarms, legs and the intimate area. After sugaring, you can compost the used sugar. Any sugar left on the skin can be washed off with a damp cloth or water.
Preparation
As the amount of sugar decreases, the heating time gets shorter. Warm areas such as the underarms and groin should be powdered with talc; you can also talc the entire area to be sugared. 1/5 of the jar’s contents is enough to treat the whole body. Immediately wet the fingers of your other hand in water and start stretching. Stretch the sugar with both hands for 15-20 seconds until the sugar changes colour from translucent to a matte light shade and becomes sticky. A little water should be added to the sugar even during stretching so that it becomes sticky. The sugar will not work properly if you do not add water. Keep stretching until the sugar has turned sticky. In winter the sugar requires more water than in summer.
Applying the sugar
Method 1: Spread the sugar in the direction of hair growth by pushing/spreading it with the full length of your thumb. Pull the movement back, which releases the sugar from the skin. This method is best for fine hairs. Method 2: Spread the sugar against the direction of hair growth, pressing firmly so that 75% is on the skin and holding the remaining 25% with your fingertips, keeping your thumb under the mass. Now flick the sugar off along the skin in the opposite direction. (NOTE! The secret to successful sugaring is keeping the movement along the skin, not, for example, a lifting motion.)
General tips
Treat an area of about 5 cm at a time. Work with one hand and forget the other one. When the sugar is sticky, it will also stick very firmly to the fingers of your other hand. If the sugar sticks firmly to the skin, you can loosen it by “tapping” the area with your sugared hand, starting from the outer edge. If that doesn’t help, remove the sugar with your fingers, set it aside, wash and talc the area. In the meantime, the sugar you set aside has rested and cooled down and is ready to use again. You can also add a little fresh body sugar from the jar or take a completely new piece of sugar and start over. Practice makes perfect.
