Forms of iron

Puhdistamo’s Tripla Rauta (Triple Iron) is a strong and versatile iron supplement. It is built on two high-quality forms of iron: iron bisglycinate and ferrous fumarate. Both iron bisglycinate and ferrous fumarate are non-heme iron in the Fe2+ form.

Lactoferrin

As a third, unique component, the product also contains lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein that itself contains a small amount of iron.

Measuring iron levels

The amount of iron in the body can be measured through blood tests by looking at haemoglobin and ferritin levels. It is indeed advisable always to have your own iron levels measured before starting to use an iron supplement, as iron must not be taken in excess.

Use

To ensure the best absorption, Puhdistamo’s Tripla Rauta is best taken on an empty stomach. It is also worth avoiding calcium supplements as well as coffee and tea at the same time, as they impair the absorption of iron.
