The serum in brief
Saaren Taika Redness Calming & Barrier Strengthening Serum has been developed for sensitive, redness-prone skin and skin prone to rosacea. Developed in Finland, the serum combines carefully selected, clinically studied active ingredients with Saaren Taika’s exclusive bladderwrack actives, Fucus DuoActive® and Fucus Fusion®.
Developed in Finland
Contains our own exclusive bladderwrack actives, Fucus DuoActive® and Fucus Fusion®. We develop and manufacture the products in our Rakkohauru range ourselves, from start to finish, in Finland.
Clinical testing
We wanted measured evidence for caring for skin prone to rosacea and couperose, so we commissioned a clinical test of the serum at the independent Eurofins laboratory under the supervision of a dermatologist. The test period was 42 days. A clinical test based on measuring instruments and dermatological assessment is a slow and costly way to make cosmetics, but we wanted proven efficacy, not just promises.
Who it’s for
The Redness Calming & Barrier Strengthening Serum has been developed for skin that flushes easily and reacts to heat, cold or stress, or that has been diagnosed with or is suspected to have rosacea. It is also suitable for skin with a weakened barrier. The product is fragrance-free and alcohol-free.
Using the range
For best results, use the serum together with the Redness Calming 24H Face Cream. The range has been designed as a whole, with products that complement each other’s effects and best support your skin barrier when used together.
Hand-harvested bladderwrack
In our Rakkohauru products, we use only bladderwrack that has been washed loose by storms, which we harvest ourselves by hand from a small sea area of approx. 10 square metres in the Bothnian Sea (Pyhämaa – Vakka-Suomi, Uusikaupunki), where it grows naturally in abundance and where it washes loose after storms. The Bothnian Sea has the cleanest waters in Finland. We collect only part of the fresh bladderwrack loosened by storms. Most of it remains in the sea and on the shores to support nature’s cycle and the diversity of marine life. We never collect from the banks of seaweed piled up on the shore, as they play their own important role in the ecosystem.
